[Prepar3D v5] Editable AFD?

(1/1)

Hanky.Panky:
We recently bought MBPV at SimMarket. A look into the AFD shows several so called "black box" library objects which cannot be identified clearly and prohibits recompile using ADE tool.
Even it looks you're no longer active, we're asking for a clean AFD without scenery placing objects, so it can be edited by the user. Can we expect this?
Oh, not only for P3Dv5, but for all platforms you're supporting ;-)
Thanks in advance and kind regards
Dieter

Hello,

The AFD file was made using a program called Airport Facilitator X by Flight 1, it's a FSX format file which P3D is also able to read. The black box objects might be an element added by ADE because the AFD does not contain any library objects besides jetways, most objects are in the MKJS_placement.bgl file. The only AFD file is the AF10_MBPV*.bgl in the scenery, which also acts as a source file when compiling with Airport Facilitator X. You should be able to remove the black boxes since the AF10_MBPV*.bgl file does not contain library objects. Or, you may have to try opening it as an FSX format file and converting it to P3D so that ADE compiles correctly. Once it's compiled it may take some tweaking and adjustments to get the file working in ADE correctly if you use that to edit it.

Both the P3D and the FSX versions use the AF10_MBPV*.bgl file for the AFD, with the suffix changing depending on which static aircraft version is installed. The FSX and P3D versions are slightly different since they are tailored to their respective simulators. MSFS version uses the file MBPV.bgl located at the \finalapproach-mbpv-providenciales\scenery\world\scenery directory.
