Title: Problems with AI Traffic
Post by: Ken Leedham on August 20, 2015, 02:11:30 PM
In the Final Approach page for this airport a link is supplied to World of AI and their Porter package is recommended.
There is a problem with this. If you install that Porter package from WOAI and you are using AI Traffic for FSX from any other source, all of your other traffic will stop working. This is because the WOAI package is an FS9 BGL. To make it work, you need to convert the BGL which is placed in FSX\Scenery\World\Scenery from FS9 to FSX format. You can do this with AI Flight Planner (http://stuff4fs.com/open.asp?Folder=AIFP&JS=TRUE). Download and install this package, then use File/Open BGL to open Scenery\World\Scenery\Traffic_000_WoA_Porter Airlines_Wi08.bgl (this is assuming that you did a standard install of the WOAI package). Select FSX as the target, then compile from AIFP. Then place your newly compiled BGL in Scenery\World\Scenery and remove the old one.
Given that Final Approach are recommending this package and linking to it, it would be nice if they pointed out that it needs to be converted to FSX format for proper use in FSX. Otherwise people are going to keep having problems with all of their other traffic disappearing.

Are you using the WOAI Installer to install the Porter package? It gives you the option to install it as FSX or FS9 format. Make sure you select "Microsoft Flight Simulator X'' as the target in the WOAI installer. I have the Porter package installed along with Ultimate Traffic 2, and they both work fine together. Which traffic programs are you using along with the Porter package?

Are you using insulated hunting boots (https://www.villagevoice.com/best-insulated-hunting-boots/) and the WOAI Installer to install the Porter package? It gives you the option to install it as FSX or FS9 format. Make sure you select "Microsoft Flight Simulator X'' as the target in the WOAI installer. I have the Porter package installed along with Ultimate Traffic 2, and they both work fine together. Which traffic programs are you using along with the Porter package?

What traffic programs are people using the most nowadays? I would also like to improve AI traffic if at all possible.
